Printable First Party Invites
Becoming One is such a special time that most of us choose to celebrate with a party! Your baby has reached a milestone in getting to their 1st birthday - and you have reached a milestone in getting through that first year with your little handful!
You are probably still busy looking after your child, so try to keep things as stress free as possible. Start planning in plenty of time - and that includes sending out the invites. You don't want to find that everyone is too busy to come. Giving 3 to 4 weeks notice is perfect.
Printable invites are an easy way to get the job done. Just make sure your printer has plenty of ink and you have a stash of paper. My first birthday party invitations don't need any special paper - your normal photocopier paper will work just fine. But if you want a more luxurious look to your invite, then buy a heavier weight paper instead.
Once printed, these invite need cutting apart. Have your guest list ready before you start filling them out. It is easy to forget who you have done and who you have missed! You can personalize your invites with stickers and colored gel pens - and don't forget to brighten up the envelope at the same time.
If you are posting your letters out, then you can get special stamps with a picture of your baby on them. This makes a really special and personal memento. Too expensive? Why not use a handprint or footprint of your baby on the back of the envelope? Unless you are only inviting a small number of guests, your baby will probably loose patience with having to do a large number of prints - so take a couple then copy the best one. Cut around it and use a gluestick to attach it. If you don't have a way to copy the print yourself, then a copy shop will be happy to do it for you.
